Starting in Alversund, the destination was Ålesund, further north in Norway. Around 7 hours of riding.
The weather was perfect; cool, a little cloud and dry.
Just over an hour into the trip was the first ferry at Oppendal to Lavik.

There was a cool little spot next to an old bridge about an hour later, marked up as Gamle Ytredal Bru on the map. Great for a photo stop.

Forty minutes later I spotted a group of turf houses, so grabbed another photo at the Sunnfjord museum. Would have been fab to have a proper look around there.

About twenty minutes down the road near Ålhus was a stunning fjord view. I’ll be honest, there are so many stunning fjords. The scenery is absolutely incredible. In some areas you can see snow-capped mountains too.

Just after 2pm a food and fuel stop was needed. This particular Circle K in Jølster was stupendously busy! Good service though ☺️
There are very regular areas where you can pull off the main road and just take in the view. Very often I miss them 🤦♂️ but sometimes I see them in time to stop!

4pm and it was time for the Anda to Lote ferry.

5.05pm was the Folkestad to Volda ferry.

6.05pm was the ferry from Festøya to Solavågen. I was a bit nervous about being on this side of the wooly neighbour 😂

Seeing the sunset on the ferry was an absolute treat!

7.05pm and I arrived in Ålesund! The most northerly point I have ever ridden to. That was 346.7km today. The total for the trip is 3,137.9km or 1,949.8 miles.

I’m very much looking forward to exploring Ålesund over the next few days with my girlfriend Rachel ☺️

Thanks for reading Day 7 of the blog! I still can’t believe this trip is real 😂 I also feel like I need some sort of sea faring certificate for the amount of ferry trips today 😂
