My last day in Norway on this trip. I’ve absolutely loved the terrain, the people, the weather, the hotdogs 😂 Writing in the little guestbook at the Airbnb (donated by a travelling couple, as they explain in the first entry) reminded me of how far I’ve ridden. In some ways it feels like it’s taken no time at all. Time is weird.

As an update on last night’s broken Sat Nav connector….I bodged a fix using some galvanised wire that I had with me and a bit of duct tape.

It held up during today, so that’s good. And the Sat Nav is behaving after a “turn it off and on again” 😂

I wanted to see the defence bunkers on Odderøya. That’s a peninsula to the south of Kristiansand.
On the way I rode past the KunstSilo (Art Silo) and this massive insect alien sculpture. It looked phenomenal!

The Vestre batteri Bunker (Western battery bunker) was impressive.

It strikes an intimidating impact on the hillside.

It was even possible to look inside.

It was really odd being inside.

Then climbing the ladder and looking out of the observation slits.

The view on the outside, obviously, was amazing. Definitely lucky with the weather again!

This structure was much bigger than that in Ålesund that I visited a few days ago.

A little further along the woodland path was a lighthouse. Odderøya Lighthouse in fact. There were some seabirds on the water. It would have been great to sit here for a while.

On the way back to the main road I spotted great graffiti on this building.

I had around forty minutes to explore Kristiansand centre. I read that Posebyen was worth a look. It’s an area that didn’t burn down in a great fire in Kristiansand. In the limited time I had I didn’t see anything that caught my eye. So I headed back to the centre. I needed more time to properly explore!

I enjoyed the sculptures I found ☺️

But the centre felt very commercial. It was nice to have a look, but with limited time it wasn’t essential to linger. I would have liked to explore the harbour area more.
Kristiansand Cathedral looked impressive. And as its tower chimed one o’ clock it was time for me to make tracks.

The ferry terminal was less than a ten minute ride away.
This was the last time on this trip of being on Norwegian land.

I was allowed onto the ferry first, guided to the motorcycle area by a fella on a bicycle. I then lashed the bike to the fixing points on the boat.

I also added a Trywin Games sticker to the collection.

It was odd seeing Norway disappear into the distance, albeit slowly 😂 I also sailed past the defence bunkers and lighthouse that I had seen a few hours before.

Now it was time for a four hour ferry trip. The boat is a mini cruise ship style. Definitely not my favoured terrain 😂 The crossing was smooth and I managed to grab some food too.
It made me smile that on the top deck there was a massive mural on the wall.

On the next deck down there was a smaller framed picture.

I was expecting a postage stamp to be on the next deck 😂
The ship docked at around 18.15.

Then it was a short ride to my accommodation.
I’ve ridden around 20 miles today 😂 Tomorrow will be a longer day. Heading back into Germany tomorrow.
Thanks for reading Day 15. I’m ready to go back to Norway now 😂 Hopefully the ride to Germany tomorrow will be nice ☺️
