Spiel is even bigger this year. In 2025 it had 7 halls. This year it’s 8.
Today, halls 1,2 and 3 were on the list. Hall 3 is notoriously busy.
The day started with the same crazy group as yesterday.

Starting in hall 1 revealed groups of people painting miniatures. There was a lot of concentration!

There is a Golden Demon section, where folks can enter their painted mini’s into different categories of competition. The paintwork is amazing. And when you consider that the models are tiny, it’s even more impressive.

The attention to detail is stunning.

Other stands also have fabulously painted mini’s too.

It was cool to meet Melanie, who lives in Germany. We met at Spiel last year too ☺️

The gift of a toilet roll with otters on made me very happy ☺️😂 That’s what you get when you make a toilet-themed game 😂

After stumbling upon the Mölkky stand, I entered a little game. It was a close run thing….but I didn’t win 😂 Although I was in the running ☺️

A good break was definitely needed, so we popped outdoors for the bratwurst. It was good ☺️

In hall 3 it was a pleasure to catch up with the Pektis Studios team. I bought Fintastic Sea from them last year, and this year it was ace to get an overview of their new game coming soon, where potatoes battle monsters ☺️

It was soon time to leave, and catch the tram back to our accommodation. However, in a surprise twist, the tram route terminated much sooner than expected.

So we had to get a bus the rest of the way back 😂

Back at the apartment we played a couple of games we had bought. The first was Roti Canai. A bluffing game about fulfilling roti orders. It was fun.

And we played Fugu, where you’re making a little aquatic ecosystem to score points. That was nice.

Thanks for reading Day 19! I need to work out whether to go back into Spiel tomorrow, or explore some of Essen. I’ve never explored Essen…..yet.
